HQE Commercial Buildings
Creation of the first logistics hotel in Europe for the City of Paris, overlooking Montmartre.
Located just a few meters from the Gare du Nord train tracks, this large-scale project was completed in early 2018 and features a 400-meter-long, 4-storey building. The architectural challenge was to integrate large-scale logistics into the city, and more specifically into the new residential area of Chapelle International, which will extend over 4.6 hectares.
The Logistics Hotel comprises several facilities:
- an urban rail terminal (15,200 m²)
- a retail space for the Métro chain (10,000 m²) with underground parking (3,000 m²)
- rooftop sports fields and an urban agriculture farm (10,000 m²)
- office space (4,500 m²)
- a fitness center (2,600 m²)
- two training centers for the national business school (1,300 m²)
- a Data Center to host Paris City Hall servers (1,700 m²)
- a restaurant and co-working space with professional kitchen (350 m²)
- a heat production center for district heating (CPCU)
The rail terminal concept aims to transform urban freight: trains carrying goods enter the building directly, and the transfer of containers onto clean vehicles takes place inside for subsequent delivery in the capital. This would, according to calculations, reduce semi-trailer journeys in Paris by 1,100,000 km/year and save 560 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
