Call for ideas in 2018
From Citadella to Cita Bella Verde
The project concerns the conversion of a hospital site located on the rocky spur of the St Louis citadel to create a new part of the city linking the upper and lower towns.
To ensure that this stratified site steeped in history is not trivialized, the urban project works with gates, access points and plants to turn St Louis into an urban park, a summit promenade and an inhabited monument.
The project gives pride of place to pedestrians and reduces the role of cars, without excluding them. Islets have been reconstructed in line with the site's historic morphology: Bastide islets and terraced townhouses. Historic and contemporary buildings, programmatic diversity and a building organization that takes advantage of the site as a whole (perched restaurant) and respects what's already there.
