Construction of an intercommunal aquatic center

The trapezoidal plot, pinched to the north, opens out more widely to the south. Its major asset is the magnificent wooded parkland it offers, a kind of vegetal sheet floating above our heads and punctuated by the verticality of the trunks, sufficiently detached from the ground to allow distant views of the horizon. This feeling must be preserved and reinforced by our project.

The idea was to bring the entire program together in a compact square plan, both for the indoor and outdoor areas.

The main functional areas are as follows:

• The reception hall combined with the social and administrative areas.
• Checkrooms for the public and groups are accessible from the reception hall, and also directly from the outside for groups, and can be twinned with the sanitary/shower area if required.
• The pool hall with associated areas (lifeguards, infirmary, equipment, etc.).
• The outdoor areas reserved for bathers feature beaches with water features and areas for relaxation and rest, all set in a patio delimited by a metal latticework that is an extension of the roof and closes the inscribed square of the ground plan.
• The wet fitness area is accessible via an access control system from the pool hall.
• Self-contained club rooms with direct access from outside.
• Staff and technical rooms served from both inside and outside the facility are located away from the main public entrance.
