Reconstruction and extension of a sports complex in Escoublac

The extension and renovation of the Alain Burban sports complex in La Baule-Escoublac makes this multi-purpose sports facility a major element of urban and landscape redevelopment. The aim of this overall project is to harmonize the qualities of the site and create a space for intergenerational sharing. This ambitious project seeks to reactivate a sensitive relationship with the land through a shared forecourt as a place for exchange, a strong identity for the building through its timber frame and the use of a local wood species, acacia, but also through the installation of a renewable energy system using a photovoltaic membrane on almost 800 m². The project is based on a sophisticated approach to use, to provide greater flexibility for the various uses envisaged. Participatory workshops and site visits were offered to local residents.
