Rehabilitation + construction: combining the various levers of sustainable construction

Renovating an outdated warehouse and building a new complex, general contractor AGC, a subsidiary of the Cassous Group, delivered a total of almost 60,000 m² this spring in association with A26. The project drew on A26's dual skills as a logistics platform designer and refurbishment expert, and the company is proud to have been able both to considerably reduce the consumption of "grey" resources and to develop local materials for the new building's 30,000 m² timber frame.

Under the A26 banner, a total of almost 60,000 m² of logistics space has been developed in Bassens (33), with the construction of a 25,000 m² warehouse with 1,000 m² of office space, and the refurbishment of a 32,000 m² unit on the same site.

The new building features a huge timber frame supporting a roof pre-equipped to accommodate voltaic panels.

Anne Piechaud, managing partner of A26's Bordeaux office:

Combining all the facets of sustainable construction, this project combines the advantages of renovation and the resulting savings in resources, with the use of sustainable, local materials in the form of a timber frame made from wood produced in the nearby Landes region.

The length of the new building is emphasized by a band of orange, which is also used to create a graphic play of color on the building's corners and gables. A building that favors natural light via huge translucent panels inserted into the façade.

The two office modules in metallic grey cladding and the sprinkler tank mark the main facade. The general facades of the warehouse are clad in very dark blue metal panels, highlighted by an orange stripe on the corners and gables of the building. The rehabilitated building forms an independent site, treated in the same spirit.

The entire platform is classified under ICPE 1530.

CARBON-NEUTRAL PLATFORM

100,000 m², 45 million parcels delivered per year, 150 KT of CO2 neutralized, gas-fired boiler abandoned: the latest logistics platform delivered to Prologis in Moissy-Cramayel by the A26 agency inaugurates the standards of tomorrow's responsible warehouse. This carbon-neutral certification for both construction and operation is a world first, simultaneously meeting the development challenges of the Casino Group's quick commerce business and the social responsibility of Samada/Monoprix and Prologis.
