When a family home becomes a wellness center

Transforming the former Panhard family home in Le Coudray-Montceaux into a hotel Spa-wellness center was the mission that GRAPE HOSPITALITY entrusted to A26. Located in the heart of a 40-hectare park, this historic mansion, dating from the XVIIIᵉ and XIXᵉ centuries, has been restructured and enlarged to accommodate the new DEEP NATURE center, one of France's specialists in high-end wellness centers.

An indoor swimming pool with sauna and hammam, massage cabins, yoga room - the full range of the agency's hotel and leisure architecture skills has been called upon to deliver a 900 m² turnkey project dedicated to well-being in early 2021.

Olivier Gibault, associate architect at A26, explains:

The volumetry of the original house being very simple, the extension, due to the program elements, is deliberately contemporary to avoid any "pastiche" effect. Inside, the customer pathway juxtaposes quality elements of the house, rehabilitated and re-staged (railings, panelled panels, stones with cabochons on the floor...), references to the world of wellness (blond woods, indirect lighting, wooden furniture, curtains...) and coverings from the construction phase, deliberately left unfinished to assert a play of textures, concrete, stone, old walls, unfinished wood, etc.
