Creation of the Quais university hub, including a building dedicated to the IUT Jean Moulin Lyon 3, a building to house the PRES research and higher education cluster, the Maison Internationale des Langues et des Cultures, a 200-bed student residence and an 800-seat university restaurant.
The building complex in the faculty district, close to the Saint-Luc Saint-Joseph hospital, is a reception and representation facility for the University of Lyon's 120,000 students.
The Quais university hub comprises five facilities:
- the University of Lyon - PRES, which includes the Presidency, the Maison de l'International (the University of Lyon's international welcome center), and the Collegium de Lyon (the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences);
- University Institute of Technology (IUT Jean Moulin Lyon 3);
- a CROUS student residence;
- a CROUS university and administrative restaurant;
- the Maison internationale des langues et des cultures (MILC - Architects: Thierry Van de Wyngaert and Véronique Feigel).
This complex will be a powerful landmark on the quays of the Rhône, the cradle of the university since the 19ᵉ century. With its sober volume and the specific aspect of the materials used, not forgetting the care given to the details of execution, the complex will constitute a strong and authentic element of Lyon's university landscape.
