Rehabilitation and Design of a Sustainable Intercommunal Aquatic Center, Nestled in the Heart of Nature

This project to refurbish an intercommunal aquatic center is positioned as a flagship facility, harmoniously integrated into a preserved natural environment. A26 Architectures' approach was guided by two fundamental principles:

  1. Restructuring and Energy-Efficiency Upgrade: Modernization of the existing infrastructure was undertaken to meet current standards, both in terms of energy-efficient technical installations and accessibility for people with reduced mobility (PRM). This phase includes the transformation of the existing pool into a space dedicated to learning and relaxation, underlining our commitment to accessibility and well-being.

  2. Expansion and Innovation: The addition of new built surfaces and the creation of a covered pool dedicated to advanced training and sports activities mark a key stage in this project. This extension is designed to offer state-of-the-art facilities, promoting performance and aquatic leisure in total respect for the environment.

Complementing these strategic orientations, innovative facilities such as a covered pentagliss and additional swimming lanes have been integrated to enhance the leisure and water sports offer. These additions aim to promote physical activity, well-being and inclusiveness, while ensuring harmony with the surrounding natural environment.

This project is a perfect example of A26 Architectures' ability to combine ecological renovation, innovation in aquatic architecture and community involvement. By focusing on sustainable and energy-efficient solutions, we strive to create certified aquatic centers that serve as models for sustainability, energy efficiency, and inclusive design accessible to all.
