ZAC FRONT
Located in the southern corner of the Erdre Porterie ZAC, the project comprises 100 collective housing units and 9 single-family homes. The site, bordering the Route de Carquefou, comprises two lots separated by a pedestrian walkway that gives access to a vast island. The two lots comprise R+5 and R+6 apartments on a parking level, while the R+1 houses are also served from the rear of the plot.
The architectural approach adopted for the apartment buildings is contemporary, with a simple massing based on a ground floor plinth marked by slate-clad walls. The upper facades are white rendered. Levels 1, 2 and 3 form a unified frontage, while levels 4 and 5 are not constantly set back. Vast balconies and loggias stand out from the facades to liven up the linearity of the construction, avoiding an overly imposing street frontage. The houses are built side by side in a strip, interrupted by an opening that will join a future ZAC street. Each has a small enclosed garden to the west.
