A26 delivers 73 homes in Bessancourt (95)

The site where the project's two small buildings will be built is unique in that it overlooks 2 public spaces (the station square and the school square), and is bordered by a valley to the south and a talweg with a pond to the north.

This high-quality landscape environment and the existing trees led us to reflect on the enhancement of these public and natural spaces, where the buildings and outdoor amenities contribute to the overall coherence of the ZAC.

With a through hall opening onto an internal promenade serving the intermediate housing units, and a north-south path between the 2 buildings offering visual and physical permeability, A26 has proposed a project that, rather than forming a barrier between public and private spaces, accompanies the landscaped areas with visual and physical continuity.

The play of simple volumes is distinguished by the use of natural materials such as wood (with occasional clear-cutting to play with transparency), brick and off-white rendering. Each building features a 2-slope metal volume reminiscent of the houses in the surrounding suburban areas. Last but not least, each home benefits from large outdoor spaces in the form of loggias to create more intimate outdoor areas. The scale of the project remains human.
