A26 ORCHESTRATING THE TRANSFORMATION OF DOWNTOWN LAMORLAYE (60)
In Lamorlaye, in the Oise region, the town council and local residents have chosen to redevelop the town center. Redevelopment of the central square to facilitate pedestrian movement, development of economic activity with the creation of new shops, greening of public spaces and renovation of public facilities including the town hall and market hall.... These are just some of the areas in which we plan to intervene to revitalize the town center.

URBAN REDEVELOPMENT FOR A CALMER, GREENER CITY CENTER
The project's ambition is to reweave the links between the different parts of Lamorlaye, in particular the Domaine du Lys and the Château. To achieve this, a pedestrian "grand diagonal" will be created, forming a veritable urban promenade that will cross the town center to link the various public amenities and new shops.
Currently unsuitable for pedestrians, the public space will be radically transformed. The creation of three "garden squares" (Place de la Mairie, Place du Marché, Place de la Tenure) will add a social dimension by offering living and meeting places.
Emphasis is also placed on the greening of public spaces, with the planting of trees, shrubs and local perennials to create islands of coolness, promote biodiversity and reinforce Lamorlaye's identity as a "garden city". The project, designed by the A26 architectural firm, also includes a significant increase in permeable surfaces, from 26% to 50%, thanks in particular to grass-covered paved parking lots, which contribute to better stormwater management.
An approach focused on soft mobility and improving the quality of life for local residents.

RENOVATION OF EMBLEMATIC DOWNTOWN PUBLIC FACILITIES
The town hall and market hall will be renovated and modernized to enhance Lamorlaye's heritage. First, we'll work on the historic building housing the town hall, restoring its "maison de maître" feel. The development of new forecourts and a relaxation garden at the rear will open it up to local residents. The work will be carried out on an occupied site to guarantee continuity of public service.
The current cultural foyer will be completely redesigned to become the new market hall, conceived as the real "lung of this city center". The interior volumes will be freed up to accommodate merchants' stalls in a fluid, convivial space. A restaurant with roof terrace is also envisaged, offering a new viewpoint over the town and the château.
"It's an exciting project that allows us to bring together our different areas of expertise, from urban planning to the development of new spaces. The citizen is truly at the heart of our approach: every detail of the program has been thought out to transform the city center into a place where it's good to live and stroll", emphasizes Elliott Laffitte, president of the agency and in charge of the project.
