Rebuilding the Collège Saint André - 700 students - a project for future generations.
Set on a triangular-shaped plot bordered by three lanes in a residential neighborhood, Saint-André College comprises a group of buildings scattered at different levels due to the natural slope of the site.
In order to create a strong architectural image, and a striking urban façade on the main avenue, the project retains only one building from the original college, enabling a general reorganization of access and spaces.
The aim is to create a real courtyard for students currently dispersed in several different areas, to create a coherent sports area and to give the school an architectural identity.
The project features two contrasting facades, reflecting the project's environmental objectives:
- an enveloping, mineral urban facade forming an acoustic screen on a busy avenue, with coloured, illuminated boxes and a wide forecourt;
- an open, largely glazed courtyard facade, with wooden frames and facade panels. The facades are protected by eaves and sunshades.
