Thann-Cernay swimming pool... When intercommunality takes to the water
The first concrete achievement to illustrate the strengths of the new Thann-Cernay (68) intercommunal pool community, the pool inaugurated on September 25 is the fruit of a perfect collaboration between AEA, a local architectural firm, and A26, one of France's specialists in the design/build of aquatic centers. At the inauguration, François Horny, Chairman of the Intercommunal Authority, underlined " the quality of the work carried out by the project management team, who worked harmoniously together to meet deadlines and budgets ".
The new swimming pool for the Thann-Cernay community of communes is unique in that it fits within the traditional average budget for this type of facility (€9 million), while at the same time presenting the specific features of a very complete installation. A paddling pool, an activity pool for aquagym fans, a 25-meter pool and a sauna area will welcome the inhabitants of the sixteen Alsatian communes that make up this new intercommunality.
In addition to this comprehensive range of equipment, staying within budget didn't hold back an original architectural design evoking a large wave that opens onto a building incorporating numerous interior patios to bring light into the heart of the pool.
